Tetralin Hydrogenation over Supported Nickel Catalysts

چکیده

An investigation was carried out to study the feasibility of using 5% nickel/alumina catalysts synthesized with different methods and metal precursors for hydrogenation tetralin. The were characterized atomic absorption spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), hydrogen chemisorption, surface area pore volume analyses. tested in a continuous-flow, fixed-bed, reactor solvent-free tetralin feed under conditions 5 barg hydrogen, 210 °C, weight hourly space velocity h–1, H2/HC ratio 7.5 (gas velocity, 4220 h–1). These reaction much milder than ones reported literature but showed considerably higher catalytic activity even low loadings. indicated that product’s isomer governed by kinetics. Indeed, remarkable difference observed selectivity relation cis/trans decalin ratios, where derived from nickel carbonate cis-decalin compared prepared nitrate. It speculated dispersion particle size played an important role this variance, as suggested XPS chemisorption. also found change not related conversion. Similarly, deactivation patterns over these catalysts.

Hydrogenation of Levulinic Acid over Nickel Catalysts Supported on Aluminum Oxide to Prepare -Valerolactone

Four types of nickel catalysts supported on aluminum oxide (Ni/Al2O3) with different nickel loadings were synthesized using the co-precipitation method and were used for the hydrogenation of levulinic acid (LA) to prepare γ-valerolactone (GVL). The synthesized Ni/Al2O3 catalysts exhibited excellent catalytic activity in dioxane, and the activity of the catalysts was excellent even after being u...

CO Hydrogenation over Alumina-Supported Sulfide Cluster Catalysts

Bimetallic Mo-Fe and Mo-Co sulfide clusters were anchored on AI,O, and used for CO hydrogenation. In addition to methane, significant amounts of dimethyl ether were produced. The reaction orders obtained from power rate laws for methanation indicated that the surfaces of the catalytic ensembles were not completely saturated by CO, in contrast to the observations for most conventional CO hydroge...

Effect of Nickel Particle Size on Alumina Supported Nickel Catalysts for p-Nitrophenol Hydrogenation

The catalytic hydrogenation of p-nitrophenol to p-aminophenol was investigated over alumina supported nickel catalysts prepared by impregnation reduction method and mechanical mixing method. The catalysts were characterized by XRD and FESEM. The results show that the nickel particle diameter of alumina supported nickel prepared by impregnation reduction method (denoted as Ni/Al2O3) is slightly ...

Catalytic Investigation of Aluminum Effects on Benzene Hydrogenation Selectivity over Nickel Supported HMS/HZSM-5 Composites

Ni/Al-HMS/HZSM-5 catalysts with varying amounts of Si/Al ratios were prepared via the impregnation method and evaluated for the hydrogenation of benzene at 130−190 °C. To study the catalyst characterization, various methods were used as X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, temperature-programmed des...

Supported nickel-rhenium catalysts for selective hydrogenation of methyl esters to alcohols.

The addition of Re to Ni on TiO2 yields efficient catalysts for the hydrogenation of acids and esters to alcohols under mild conditions. Rhenium promotes the formation of atomically dispersed and sub-nanometre-sized bimetallic species interacting strongly with the oxide support.
